Experience
John R. Kaminski, PE, has over 10 years of experience in fire service. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has worked for Schirmer Engineering in Maryland, and Burt Hill in Pennsylvania in fire system design. John earned his Professional Engineering License from the State of California in 2007, and became a licensed P.E. in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 2010.
Currently, John is employed at Bettis Laboratories as a full-time Fire Protection Engineer, overseeing the fire safety issues of a U.S. Government-owned facility that employs over 2,000 people. John also serves as a firefighter and EMT for Bettis’ independent volunteer fire department. In this spare time, John serves as a volunteer firefighter at Perrysville Volunteer Fire Company, right outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
John has experience working on fire protection designs for the following occupancies:
